How to move a Joomla website to another folder?

Your in-built File Manager in the cPanel works as an alternative to the average FTP tools. So performing basic actions, like moving a Joomla website from one folder to another is something that you can definitely use it for.

In order to move your Joomla website from one folder to another you will need to log into your cPanel -> File Manager.

Then open the folder/subfolder that your Joomla is located in and Select All files:

Once you have selected all the files, click the Move File icon

and then enter the path which you wish the files to be moved in. In our case the files are in a directory called joomla.example.com and to move them in to public_html we just need to enter public_html in the path field.

Note: That if you have another script in that location, you must delete it first!

Should you experience any difficulties you can always contact our 24/7 Support Team who will gladly help you with your file settings.
